Alexandria Day Trip

About three hours from Cairo along the desert road, Alexander’s city awaits with its sea breeze and more than two thousand years of history. The tour opens at the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, one of the great Roman-era burial sites, and the towering Pompey’s Pillar.

Then follow the corniche to the Citadel of Qaitbay, built in the fifteenth century on the ruins of the legendary Lighthouse of Alexandria. After a lunch of fresh fish, visit the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, designed as a sun disc rising from the sea.
