This policy sets out the rules for cancelling and amending bookings and for refunds of amounts paid for services marketed or arranged by Golden Scarab for Tourism Investment. It should be read together with our Terms & Conditions published on this website.
1. General Principle
As a tourism marketing and hotel management company that arranges and coordinates services, we do not deliver those services ourselves; they are delivered by independent suppliers such as hotels, airlines, transport companies and licensed operators. Each supplier's cancellation terms therefore apply, and we communicate them to you in your quotation or Booking Confirmation. Where those terms differ from the default rules in this policy, the terms stated in your Booking Confirmation prevail.
2. Default Rules for Domestic Stays and Programmes
Unless your Booking Confirmation states otherwise, the following default rules apply to hotel stays, apartments and programmes within Egypt, calculated from the service start date:
- 30 days or more before: full refund, less non-refundable bank and payment gateway fees;
- 15 to 29 days before: cancellation charge of 25% of the booking value;
- 7 to 14 days before: cancellation charge of 50% of the booking value;
- Less than 7 days before, or no-show: cancellation charge of 100% of the booking value.
Early departure or failure to use part of a service is treated as a no-show for the unused portion, unless the supplier agrees otherwise.
3. Non-Refundable Rates
Some offers and promotional rates are non-refundable and non-amendable. This is clearly stated in the quotation or Booking Confirmation. For such bookings, no amount is refunded on cancellation or no-show.
4. Flights
Flight tickets are subject to the airline's fare rules for the fare class booked. Many economy fares are non-refundable, or only partly refundable (for example, certain taxes), and changes are subject to airline fees and fare differences. The airline's penalties and refund timelines apply.
5. Umrah Programmes and Peak Seasons
Umrah and pilgrimage programmes, and bookings during peak seasons such as Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha, New Year and Christmas, may be subject to stricter cancellation terms, including deposits that become non-refundable on confirmation or longer cancellation windows. These terms are stated expressly in the quotation or Booking Confirmation.
6. Day Trips
Unless stated otherwise, day trips may be cancelled free of charge up to 48 hours before the trip starts. Cancellations made less than 48 hours before, or failure to arrive at the meeting point on time, are non-refundable.
7. Transport, Charter and Car Rental
Transport and charter services (coaches and hired vehicles) and car rental are subject to the supplier's terms. As a general rule, transport cancelled less than 24 hours before the scheduled time may be charged in full, and long-term or group charters may carry specific conditions stated in the Booking Confirmation.
8. Amendments
You may request changes to a booking, such as a change of traveller name or dates, subject to availability and supplier approval. Amendments may incur supplier fees or price differences. Reducing the length of stay or the number of guests may be treated as a partial cancellation. Some services, such as flight tickets and certain promotional rates, do not allow name changes at all.
9. How to Cancel
- Cancellation or amendment requests must be made in writing by email to goldenscarab2030@gmail.com or via WhatsApp, quoting the booking reference and lead traveller's name.
- A cancellation takes effect on the date and time of our written acknowledgement of your request, and the applicable charges are calculated from that point.
- Verbal requests are not valid unless confirmed in writing.
10. Refund Method and Timeline
- Refunds are made using the same payment method used for the original payment wherever possible, or otherwise by bank transfer or InstaPay to an account in the lead booker's name.
- We typically process refunds within 14 business days after the supplier releases the refundable amount.
- The time it takes for funds to appear in your account may vary depending on the payment gateway or your card-issuing bank.
- Bank charges, payment gateway fees and exchange-rate differences are non-refundable unless stated otherwise.
11. Force Majeure and Credit Notes
If a service cannot be delivered because of force majeure, such as natural disasters, epidemics, government decisions or border or airport closures, we will work with the supplier to offer one of the following, as the supplier permits: rebooking to a later date, a credit note valid for a set period, or a refund of amounts actually released by the supplier. We are not obliged to refund amounts that the supplier has not returned to us.
12. Hotel Management and B2B Marketing Services
Hotel management, marketing and other services provided to businesses and hotel properties are governed by their own specific contracts. This policy applies to them only on matters not covered by those contracts.
