For travellers who prefer land-based hotels and more flexible timing, this classic programme brings together the highlights of Luxor and Aswan over six days, with time to enjoy your hotel and the Nile.

Fly from Cairo to Luxor for three nights in a Nile-view hotel, with a dawn balloon flight, the Valley of the Kings, Karnak and the sound-and-light show. Then drive to Aswan via Edfu and Kom Ombo for two nights by the First Cataract, with Abu Simbel and Philae.

Includes domestic flights, accommodation, private transport, guides and tickets; suites and extra Cairo nights can be added.

Day by day

Morning flight from Cairo, meet at Luxor Airport and transfer to your hotel. Afternoon visit to Luxor Temple, then a carriage ride along the corniche and dinner at leisure.
Dawn hot-air balloon over the West Bank, then the Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut’s temple and the Workers’ Village tombs at Deir el-Medina, returning to rest in the afternoon.
A long morning at Karnak and the Avenue of Sphinxes; afternoon free at the hotel or a sunset felucca. In the evening, the Karnak sound-and-light show.
Private road journey to Aswan, visiting the temples of Edfu and Kom Ombo on the way, arriving at your hotel above the First Cataract.
Dawn departure to Abu Simbel for the temples of Ramesses II and Nefertari, back at midday for Philae Temple, then a sunset felucca sail.
Morning boat trip to a Nubian village, then transfer to Aswan Airport for your flight to Cairo.
