Five days aboard a five-star cruiser sailing from Luxor to Aswan via Edfu and Kom Ombo, on full board with guided visits.
A Nile cruise is how the first travellers discovered Egypt — and it remains the most beautiful way to discover it today. Over four nights you sail between the greatest temples of the Nile Valley, waking each morning to a new scene of villages, palms and hills.
Begin in Luxor with Karnak, Luxor Temple and the Valley of the Kings, pass through the Esna lock, visit the Temple of Horus at Edfu — the best-preserved temple in Egypt — and the riverside double temple of Kom Ombo with its crocodile museum. In Aswan: Philae, the High Dam and a felucca sail.
Includes full board aboard a luxury cruiser, all visits with a specialist guide and airport transfers. Abu Simbel or extra nights in Cairo can be added.
Day by day
Meet at Luxor Airport and board the ship before lunch. In the afternoon, visit Karnak with its Great Hypostyle Hall and sacred lake, then Luxor Temple at sunset as its lights come on. Welcome dinner and overnight on board.
Optional dawn balloon flight, then the Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut’s temple and the Colossi of Memnon. The ship sets sail at midday and passes through the Esna lock — a spectacle in itself — with afternoon tea on deck.
In the morning, ride a horse-drawn carriage to the Temple of Horus at Edfu, Egypt’s best-preserved temple. Sail on to Kom Ombo and its temple dedicated to Sobek and Horus the Elder, with the museum of mummified crocodiles. Galabeya party in the evening.
Visit the High Dam and the Unfinished Obelisk, then take a boat to Philae Temple on Agilkia Island. In the afternoon, a felucca sail around Elephantine Island and the Botanical Garden, with an optional Nubian village visit. Nubian evening on board.
Breakfast and disembarkation. Optional dawn excursion to Abu Simbel, or transfer to Aswan Airport for your onward flight.
