Siwa Oasis Eco-Lodge
An eco-lodge built of kershef in traditional Siwan style — candle-lit evenings beneath the desert sky, with no electricity in the rooms.

Desert silence, oasis magic
A remote oasis on the edge of the Great Sand Sea: Shali fortress, the Temple of the Oracle of Amun, Cleopatra’s Spring and turquoise salt lakes.
Some 50 kilometres from the Libyan border, amid a sea of palms and olive groves, Siwa lives by its own rhythm, with its Amazigh culture and Siwi language. Here rise the ruins of Shali fortress, built from kershef — salt and mud — and the Temple of the Oracle of Amun, where Alexander the Great came to hear his destiny.
Swimming in the warm waters of Cleopatra’s Spring, floating in turquoise salt lakes as buoyant as the Dead Sea, sunset from Gebel Dakrour and 4x4 dune runs into the Great Sand Sea with hot sand baths — Siwa is a journey to another time.
We arrange stays in eco-lodges built in the traditional Siwan style and design programmes that respect the privacy and traditions of the local community.
